Today is the first conversation in the series 'WEB3 Artist'. Today, I introduce you to Borja Moskv from Spain. For 2.5 years, he has been sustaining himself with activities and creations in WEB3. I asked him 10 questions, to which he responded briefly but very substantively! If you are curious about what an artist's life in web3 looks like, I invite you to read on.
Inspirations for Creating "Cocodrilo Jones"?
Inspired by nothing in particular. I could tell you about my biggest musical influences, ranging from Krautrock, Nu-Disco, Italo, Balearic, Cosmic Disco... I especially like electronic music from Norway: Lindstrom, Skatebard, Diskjokke, Prins Thomas... A huge fan of Radiohead and John Frusciante.
Influence of Collaboration with Blanco y Negro Music?
Well, it influenced the emotional boost I got from having such an important label in my country release a couple of tracks when I had only been producing for a few months. Beyond that, not much. I earned more on my first day on https://www.sound.xyz/.
Other Forms of Art?
I'm passionate about digital art. I've released several collections of NFTs, with some success, since mid-2021. I exclusively dedicate myself to web3 art.
Future Artistic Projects?
I have many projects. I'm working on a collection of NFTs with music generated by AI. I will release certain songs from the collection on http://Sound.xyz (indicating that it is AI-generated music), and the owner of the NFT with that song will receive 100% of the sales.
Beginnings in the Web 3 World?
I started without knowing anything, gradually creating my NFT collections, with sales almost from the first minutes. A little later, I focused on ENS domains, and with an investment of only $1000, I managed to buy and sell more than 1500 domains, around 80 ETH in sales, being the world's largest seller for a long time. Now I am focused only on music and digital art.
Challenges in Creating and Selling NFTs?
Currently, the biggest challenge in creating and selling NFTs, in my opinion, would be to create something original that stands out among the vastness of boring, monotonous, and uncreative collections, where the only value of the collection is what its community can give it, as artistically, 99% of NFTs, in my opinion, have little value in that aspect.
First Step into Web 3?
Open a Twitter account dedicated exclusively to web3. Only follow people in the field.
Tools and Resources for Artists in Web 3?
Advanced knowledge of social media, especially Twitter. Knowledge of the brief but intense history of NFTs. Knowing which collections have been successful to try to figure out their formula. Advanced knowledge in Blockchain. Basic programming skills...
Brand Building and Networking in Web 3?
Build trust. Be close to collectors. Reward your most loyal followers. Try to be disruptive. Cover different platforms (Twitter, Discord, Reddit, Telegram, etc.). Master everything related to multimedia to create attractive posts on your social networks.
Barriers in Entering Web 3?
Well, the learning curve for everything related to blockchain technology is relatively low. The beginnings can be a bit confusing. Also, creating a solid base of followers on Twitter, which is a slow process.
